My story

Who’s the Master? Is one of life’s oldest questions. One that I implore everyone to investigate and search for Truth. The Art of Heart is just that. Not settling where the rubber meets the road. But truly a quest in life, as many of us are wandering ronin. Every Martial Art style has its Master. I have been humbled to have finally been able to know the Master of them all. He is the Warrior of old that’s spoken of in Exodus 15:3. The One who Jacob wrestled with in Genesis 32:24. The same Warrior who stood as Commander in Chief in front of Joshua, son of Nun in the Book of Joshua 5:13. The Master who taught and gave victory to David when faced with Goliath. The same Intercepting Shepherd in the Book of John 3:16.

Notice a pattern? This is the epitome of the Art of Heart. A ronin’s quest in the Way, the Truth and the Life of the warrior. Not to take my word for it or anyone else’s. But to truly and honestly search for Truth with your entire being. Search for Truth and it’ll set you free. A wandering ronin no more, but a man after GOD’s own heart. (Acts 13:22).

-Johnny has been blessed in his life to be intercepted from the pit of darkness and brought to light. He is married to a lovely and beautiful Proverbs 31 wife named Bernadette. Together they have 2 miracles sent from above, Leila & Joshua. Johnny has served in the US Coast Guard and now serves as a Firefighter for one of the greatest Depts in the world, Miami-Dade Fire Rescue since 2005. He also serves as a Chaplain on the Dept with an awesome team of unique and loving individuals. He is a 1st Generation Level 8 Commando Krav Maga Elite Instructor under the Founder Moni Aizik. This is where he brings his life passion and abilities to the pit as one is truly humbled when disciplined “Blows that hurt cleanse away evil, As do stripes the inner depths of the heart.”Proverbs‬ ‭20:30‬. He Travels the world teaching seminars and camps to military and civilians. Has been blessed to train in Israel several times. He is also an instructor in training under Vladimir Vasiliev in Systema. Which brings a unique take on Combatives and the warrior spirit. Considers himself a forever student learning various warrior arts like Jun Fan JKD, Kali, Wrestling and Muay Thai and Boxing. Always remembering the words of Bruce Lee: “Absorb what is useful, discard what is useless and add what is specifically your own“. John has been blessed to train with some amazing people who hold prestigious duties from around the world. As such, these individuals have become his extended warrior family. While Growing up his dad, Camilo (a warrior from Puerto Rico) and mom Isabel (a lioness from Dominican Republic) have taught him the precious disciplinary art of the “chancletaso” (art of the sandal).
